What is Naloxone?

NARCAN® Nasal Spray is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency.

Naloxone, the active ingredient in NARCAN® Nasal Spray, competes with opioids to bind with the same receptors in the brain to reverse the effects of the overdose.

Narcan is available without a prescription at all pharmacies in Michigan. It is also available at the Dearborn Train Station for free via vending machine.
